Merry Christmas!!

Jesus is born and the day is finally HERE!!!! [insert shimmy] ;D

I hope your season is filled with joy and love as we approach the coming year by welcoming the Light of the World into our hearts.

Did you know that Francis of Assisi once said, “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”  This quote really sunk deep for me in thinking about how to live out the true spirit of Christmas this year.

One of my favorite things about this time of year is Christmas lights. I LOVE finding houses covered in lights and I could literally sit in a dark room with just the tree lit for hours!! They just make me so happy!  Okay, I’ll stop. 😉  But I think deep down the reason Christmas lights make everything feel happy is because they symbolize the true Light of the World.  Jesus came into the world to dispel all darkness and shine His love upon this earth.  And the world was changed.

Even though He isn’t being physically born again this year, He still wants to set the world ablaze (St. Catherine of Siena reference), this time through you and me.  As we celebrate the birth of Jesus today, may we also let Him be born within our hearts and ignite a flame in us.

I challenge you to join me in letting Christ’s light become our light and strive to bring joy and love to our family and friends.  May the Spirit of Christmas this year become for you the Spirit of Christ: the true source of our joy.

Note: I know it has been an extremely long time since I have posted on my blog.  I am so sorry for disappearing.  My life has been crazy busy during my senior year of high school and so I had to pick and choose my priorities.  As a result blogging fell into the background because I felt I need to focus more of time on building better relationships with my family and with God.  I felt if I spent so much time blogging that I didn’t have time for prayer then this can’t be what God wants.  I still love blogging and hope to post here and there and maybe get back into the full swing of it if the Holy Spirit so inspires. 🙂  I am still praying for all of you and love you so dearly for all the support and love you have shown.  Please pray for me.
